RISH Bride of the Week – Sarah Seilhymer

Rish bride of the week sarah seilhymer

1. Where did you meet your husband?

My husband and I met 4 years ago on a softball field. I had just started subbing in on the team that he had been playing with for about a year. Now we are the coach/manager duo of the same team. We did our Save the Dates in our softball uniforms with our entire team. It was perfect!

2. How did he propose?

Josh proposed while we were on vacation in Fort Bragg, CA with our kids (he has 3 and I have 3). We walked down to the beach to watch the sunset and that’s where he popped the question.

3. What was your wedding theme?

Our wedding date was the 4th of July. It’s our favorite holiday and Josh is an Army Veteran. It was the perfect date. So of course we went fully Patriotic. We had red, white, and blue everywhere. It was beautiful!

4. Where did you get married and why did you choose that specific location?

We got married at Barns at Willow Creek in Yuba County, CA. The venue was amazing. I knew I wanted to get married next to water and they had a pond right behind our ceremony site (underneath a huge willow tree!). There is a river that runs through the property and we took stunning photos on the bridge there. The entire property is huge and breathtaking. Our guests loved it just as much as we did!

5. What made you understand that our RISH gown was the ONE?

When I first walked into Swoon my dress was on a mannequin. It was the first thing I saw and it was love at first sight. It had everything that I wanted and it was perfect for me. The moment I tried it on and saw myself in the mirror….I just knew it had to be mine. Amber was my stylist at Swoon and she was so sweet. She told me “Look at your face, it lights up when you have this dress on” in a way that it didn’t with any of the other dresses. The ladies at Swoon were all so sweet and helpful! Amber did a ZOOM shopping with me to find the perfect accessories for my dress. I cannot recommend their shop enough!

6. What was your first dance song?

Our first dance song was “You Make it Easy” by Jason Aldean

7. What moment from your wedding will you never forget?

My favorite moment of our wedding was all of the intimate moments that my husband and I got to share. We were able to step aside from the party when our photographer wanted to sneak us away for some pictures. And during that time we would just be together, laugh together, love together. It made for the most incredible pictures that really show through who we are and I will cherish those memories forever.

8. Do you have any advice to give to future brides?

My advice to future brides is to not lose faith. Even if you feel like there’s no way you’ll find that dress you’ve been dreaming of, the venue you’ve dreamed of, or if you worry something like COVID will make you have to reschedule or rethink it all….don’t lose faith. Keep pushing forward. Everything will fall into place and the day will be perfect and magical. The day of our wedding I had no stress, no worry at all. Everyone kept saying how unbelievable it was that I was so calm. And believe me, it is not in character for me because I tend to be a control freak. But that day I just knew….no matter what happened….it was going to be perfect. I was marrying my best friend and nothing else ultimately mattered. Find that peace in yourself the day of your wedding and soak in EVERYTHING. Because it really does go by so fast and then it just feels like a dream.
